After reading the first 5 entrys in the book “What Should I Do with My Life,” I came to compare and relate myself to the story of Choejor Dondup or Ali. During this entry in the book Ali had received a letter describing what he was destined to do in life. I started to relate myself to this entry by my acceptance letters to colleges. It seemed like I had to know what I was going to do and how it should be done. I started to get very nervous, and I almost did not even attempt the whole college experience. I went to Morehead State University for their SOAR program for incoming freshman, and after it was all said and done I was scared to death. I told myself that college wasn’t for me. Then along came my acceptance letter to Ashland Community Technical College, I had a date to talk to my advisor that was assigned to me and it stated how much everything was going to cost. Ashland is about 45 minutes away and it is 20 times cheaper than my tuition at MSU. I learned a whole lot about myself in this entry, because it makes you think wow! I really need to take a step back and see what’s best for my future and how it will affect me down the road.
That one letter of acceptance changed my life. I am now on my second semester of college, and I have a 4.0, I haven’t missed a day, and I absolutely love it. So before you go to make a huge decison that could affect t your future, your wallet, or your life, take a step back and look at all your possible options.
