In the chapter "The Ungrateful Soldier," Po recounts C.S. Lewis’s assertion that belonging to an Inner Ring is a powerful, wayward desire. Po asks Tim Bratcher who’s sitting at that table – who’s in his Inner Ring. So I started asking myself the same question, I would include anyone who I love and that makes me happy. So my inner ring or circle would be anything positive in my life.
During my life my dad has always been my toughest critic, he always said that I shouldn’t go to college, and should take up the family business. He said I couldn’t do it. This made me want to prove him wrong that much more. What he doesn’t realize is he’s my motivation, I know and I will prove him wrong.
Throughout these chapters, I really couldn’t relate them to other classes, but I do relate them to setting my mind to something and going after it.
These chapters in the book, made me ask myself questions, and also made me appreciate what I have. Because money can’t buy happiness, and life is all about what you make of it.

This book also made me ask myself questions. My Inner Ring is full of diversity. Some white, some black, some men, some women, some young, some old, all of them make me happy, sad, and mad. I too am grateful and thankful for everything I am blessed with.
